Choosing from Spicule & Microneedle Skincare
Spicule serums and dissolving microneedle patches are the at-home take on skin-booster treatments: no rollers or devices, just a serum or patch you apply like any other step.

Spicules are microscopic, needle-shaped particles, traditionally from marine sponges and now often made from hyaluronic acid or other materials, suspended in a serum or cream. Massaged in, they give a light prickle, and brands use them alongside ingredients such as centella, collagen, niacinamide and PDRN. Microneedle patches put a similar idea into a sticker: tiny dissolving points made with hyaluronic acid or peptides that sit on the under-eye area or fine lines overnight.

This collection brings together around 55 products, led by the VT COSMETICS Reedle Shot range from 100 to 700, with medicube Exosome Shot serums, Dr.Melaxin spicule creams, Mary&May, IOPE, APRILSKIN and SKIN1004 boosters, and dissolving microneedle patches from skyn ICELAND, PEACE OUT and JETLISSE. Prices mostly fall between about £25 and £44. Derma rollers and stamps are not included.

Start with the lowest strength two or three times a week, avoid using it on the same night as strong acids or retinoids, and skip broken or irritated skin. A light tingle is expected; lasting stinging is a sign to stop.

Frequently asked questions

What does 'Reedle Shot 100' mean?

The number in VT COSMETICS Reedle Shot names refers to the spicule concentration. 100 is the gentlest everyday option; 300 and 700 are stronger and usually used less often.

Is a spicule serum the same as microneedling?

No. Professional microneedling uses a device to make tiny channels in the skin. Spicule serums and dissolving patches are cosmetic products you apply yourself; they create a tingling feel but are not a substitute for a clinic treatment.

Can I use spicule serums every day?

Low-strength formulas are designed for regular use, but build up gradually, starting with two or three evenings a week, and follow the directions on the pack.

How do microneedle eye patches work?

Each patch has tiny dissolving points made from ingredients such as hyaluronic acid. Apply it to clean, dry skin, usually overnight, and the points soften and dissolve as you wear it.
