How would we describe Combination Skin and Treatments Recommended

If you have a “Combination” skin type you quite often have an Oily “T” ZONE” (Forehead, Nose and Chin) with Normal /Dry cheeks and neck. The oily areas will most likely suffer with blockages and open other areas can be quite dry and flaky. The skin’s pH level is important and we often relate/classify skin types by the Ph Level it has i.e. where it is in the Alkaline to Acid range and maintaining a slightly acidic pH of around 5.5 is critical.

Typical questions asked about Combination Skin and some of our recommendations

We frequently get asked:

  • “Please can you recommend some skin care and beauty products for me?”
  • “Which skin type to major on?
  • “Why is it so difficult to get my skin right”
  • “I have tried loads of products without success – help please?”

Obviously one size does not fit all on this skin type and so we need to get the balance of products right and be prepared to change as your skin changes. If you prefer oil based cleanser then use a light weight moisturizer. The skin care products you need may also vary between AM and PM, summer and winter.

Treatments Recommended for Combination Skin

Combination skins can obviously have a combination of treatments depending on the condition when coming in to the Remedies Clinic.

So we may advise:

a) That the client has Peels in the winter and more gentler relaxing and moisturising facials in the summer.

b) The Consultation Facial

Let us help and guide you and help you make the right decision. The best way to do this and the usual first treatment all our new clients to facials take is the Consultation Facial. This is an extremely comprehensive assessment of your skin, it needs and includes a bespoke treatment to meet these requirements.

c) The Soap that you use

One of the major culprits for radically changing the Ph level of the skin is the soap you use!!! So, when clients come to our clinic an initial key question for us to ask is “What do you use to cleanse your skin?”

Some of the soaps presented to us have an equivalent alkaline level of AJAX, so would you put this on your skin?

So it is vitally important to check what you are using on your skin and taking a moment to read our interesting article on maintaing a "Well Balanced Skin" will surprise and we are sure will be useful to you.

So, with the right balance of products and using of course them, will help to effectively maintain your skin in a healthy condition and keep it younger looking. We always advise Sun Protection for all year round and we always recommend a SPF30 protection level.

We also offer a Free Skin Analysis in our Skin Scanner which takes about 15 minutes where we can explain identify any skin issues and provide some initial guidance. There is no obligation afterwards as we have a genuine passion for skin care and want potential clients to understand their skin better.

So, don't have any further delay in getting to understand you skin, having it looking really healthy and staying looking younger longer!  Call the Remedies Reception 01392 877221 and make an appointment.
